Ahmedabad East (Lok Sabha constituency)

Ahmedabad East Lok Sabha constituency {Gujarati: અમદાવાદ પૂર્વ લોકસભા મતવિસ્તાર) is one of the 26 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies in Gujarat state in western India. This constituency came into existence as a part of the implementation of delimitation of parliamentary constituencies in 2008.

Assembly segments

Presently, Ahmedabad East Lok Sabha constituency comprises seven Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) segments. These are[1]:

  1. Dehgam
  2. Gandhinagar South
  3. Vatva
  4. Nikol
  5. Naroda
  6. Thakkarbapa Nagar
  7. Bapunagar

Five of its seven Vidhan Sabha segments - Gandhinagar South, Vatva, Nikol, Thakkarbapa Nagar and Bapunagar also came into existence in 2008 as a part of the implementation of delimitation of legislative assembly constituencies. Naroda and Dehgam were earlier in erstwhile Ahmedabad and Kapadvanj constituencies resepectively.[2]
